June 2026
It reminds me of "Dark Messiah of Might & Magic" Introduction: I came across Fatekeeper more or less by accident, and it immediately reminded me a little of "Dark Messiah of Might & Magic". So it quickly found its way onto my wishlist. Now we finally get a small glimpse of what the game has to offer, and so far I quite like what I've seen. Of course, after such a short time, it's impossible to give a proper thumbs up or thumbs down. The developers aiming to release the full version within 18 months feels pretty ambitious, though. We'll have to wait and see. For now, this is just a short overview. Combat System: The combat feels good with mouse and keyboard, much like most first-person RPGs. However, it can be easy to lose track of what's happening when enemies attack from multiple directions. Blocking is important, and you'll need to manage your stamina carefully if you want to survive larger groups of enemies. Players who simply mash attacks will probably run into trouble rather quickly. Soundtrack: The music fits the atmosphere well and does its job. I wouldn't call it memorable or outstanding so far, but it supports the gameplay nicely. Graphics: Visually, the game makes a very strong first impression. I was honestly surprised by how smooth and polished everything feels. Part of that may be due to my hardware, but overall the technical side seems solid. I haven't found much to complain about yet. The only thing that stood out were some of the water effects, such as water wheels and waterfalls, which don't quite match the quality of the rest of the visuals. Story: It's still far too early to judge the story properly. You're thrown into the game almost immediately, a rat gives you a few words of guidance, and from there you mostly follow the path and complete the objectives you're given. Difficulty: The game can be fairly challenging, especially when dealing with groups of enemies. I'd call it demanding, but definitely not a Soulslike. Maybe a lighter version of that style - although I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to those games. Conclusion: For €8, there's already enough here to make me interested in what the developers are building. I'm definitely curious to see how the game evolves over time. For me, the price was worth it just to get a first look and keep an eye on future updates. I'll save my final judgment for the full release once the game is complete. Final Words: Feel free to leave a rating and share your feedback. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3737614637 Deutsch: Einleitung: Fatekeeper habe ich eher beiläufig entdeckt und es hat mich direkt ein wenig an "Dark Messiah of Might & Magic" erinnert. First of all, solid game for 10$, would pay double that easily. Pros: - Insane scenery - Will make you feel like a 250kg absolute unit running at enemies - Pretty cool, and huge skill tree Cons: (Even though I haven't played long and it's still early access I think it's necessary to be critical because this game can and will be awesome with the right tweaks) - Alchemy mechanic is kinda forced just because you can't get healed from anywhere else unless you level up - Daggers are not even a choice, because it takes like 2.5x the time to kill anything and when hordes of enemies run at you there's no way to afford that unless you are a god at spacing - Reach felt a bit weird, could hit from the same distance with a dagger and a zweihander (might just be me though) -Magic seems utterly useless except the pulling thing, the wind knockback is actually non-existent. (might be good if you spec into it but at early lvls atleast you are better off just using the pull to cull out hordes) - You can't play the game with shadows on medium or low setting because the game just turn practically black Even though there's a lot more cons then pros in my review at the moment, I adore projects like these and this game for sure has a lot of potential and by no means I think that it is a bad game, just needs some tuning that I think the community will help provide ! Overall pretty excited for the games journey will be checking in from time to time !

Game is beautiful, voices are better than in the previous trailers where we couldn't understand a damn word. Sound mixing is still meh tho, between ambiant sounds, voices, music, it's difficult to hear everything without subtitles. Some animations are missing, the combat seems fun, the dialogues are very slow and repetitive. Also this needs controller support. Honestly, I have no doubt this game will be great once out of EA, there is a real personality to it and it's obvious a lot of love was put into this game.
